Be A Community Hero: Sign Up for the Clovis Chamber
of Commerce Blood Drive on October 13 & 14
For Immediate Release
October 8, 2020 – Clovis, CA.
Your local Clovis Chamber of Commerce is spearheading an effort to support our community’s health and well-being. We recognize that nearly every business and industry in the Central Valley feels the ripple effects of the pandemic. Blood donations declined since the onset of the COVID-19 crisis, and the need to replenish our local supply is dire. Due to social distancing and limits on large gatherings, many previously scheduled blood drives were canceled or postponed indefinitely. The closures of high schools, colleges, and businesses have also slowed the numbers of blood donations to a trickle. And now, with holiday season fast approaching, the demand for blood increases.
We need your help to meet the challenge of collecting blood donations. Your local Chamber is stepping up and partnering with the Central California Blood Center to offer you a way to become a community hero and donate. Meet the Bloodmobile parked outside the Clovis Chamber office in Old Town Clovis, Tuesday and Wednesday, October 13th and October 14th, from 9 am until 3 pm. Give the gift of life: Register for your appointment today!
“’Valley residents need Valley blood’ is not only a slogan but should be our personal duty as a resident of the Central Valley to help each other,” said Greg Newman, CEO of the Clovis Chamber of Commerce. “Not only does the Clovis Chamber advocate for a strong business community but also a healthy and thriving community. Please join us in giving blood and helping our friends, family and neighbors.”

Is donating blood safe?
All present-day COVID-19 safety precautions are in place. Simply reserve your appointment, eat a good meal, and drink plenty of water before your arrival. Just avoid caffeinated beverages.
What can you expect when you arrive?
Giving blood only takes a few minutes of your time. After registration, you’ll receive a mini-physical to check your temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and hemoglobin level. You’ll also be interviewed to ensure that giving blood is safe for you and healthy for recipients. All information is held in strict confidence.
