Young Entrepreneurs Academy
Information Meetings Sept 4, 18
The Clovis Chamber will be presenting informational meetings about the Young Entrepreneurs Academy, YEA!, on September 4th and 18th at the Chamber office in Old Town from 6 to 7 pm.
YEA! was created in 2004 in New York and chose the Clovis Chamber to be the first in California to offer its unique curriculum to our students. Instructors, speakers and mentors will all be local business owners and leaders who will give first-hand knowledge about their experiences – the good and the bad. In addition to instruction, computer access and business plan creation, the students will visit exciting local businesses.
The course culminates with presentations before an investor panel that will have real funds to invest. The winning student will be flown to New York to compete on the national level for college scholarships.
No business experience is required for enrollment and many students don’t necessarily have their big business idea yet, but be driven and motivated to start a business that they can continue after graduating from the YEA! class. Students who apply should be highly motivated, driven, creative thinkers who are excited about new ideas, new opportunities and are looking to do something big. The program teaches students how to transform their passions into real, profitable businesses or social causes.
