Calling All Local Shutter-Bugs!

The Chamber is now in the process of gathering new and fresh content for the 2019 Clovis Lifestyle & Resource Guide. It’s said a picture is worth a 1,000 words so we would like to invite you to participate in the look and feel of the new edition and challenge you to get out there and snap some impressive images for consideration. There will be a $100 Gift card for Sierra Vista Mall to the photo voted as Best of the Best entry. This contest is open to the community!

Submit photos that you believe capture “The Clovis Way of Life” for potential inclusion in the 2019 Community Lifestyle and Resource Guide!

Contestants are limited to entering 3 photos before the deadline on September 15, 2018. You’ll also need to sign a permission form granting the rights of use for all photos in future publications at the Clovis Chamber of Commerce’s discretion.

Ready to enter? Submit up to 3 photos via email with a signed permission form as an attachment. Click here to get started.

Some important tips to keep in mind:

Consider All Possibilities: Have a variety of image selections. Evaluate your strengths and anticipate which images will have the most potential for entries into a community publication and which will have the fewest.

Less Is More: Keep it simple. In most cases, the “less is more” approach works for those award-winning shots. This is applicable to both the number of photos you enter and the content captured in each shot. (A maximum of 3 photos may be entered)

Be Creative: Prior to determining the winner, the judges will ask themselves whether a photo exhibits the use of creative techniques to make the picture more interesting. A photographer who is aware of unique colors, angles, shapes, patterns, and lines often scores well.

Relax: Entering a photo contest can be intimidating, but you shouldn’t let your nerves get the best of you. Once your work is submitted, you are at the mercy of the judges. You should be entering for the fun of it and focusing more on enjoying the picture taking process.
